Ryan Gosling has begun intense training to prepare for his role in Only God Forgives.
The Drive star has been working at the Muay Thai Academy of America in North Hollywood in the months leading up to shooting the boxing film, receiving instruction directly from owner Kiu Puk.
"Ryan's disciplined and enthusiastic, and above all, he loves his training," Puk told Life & Style.
"He trains for around two hours at a time - it's pretty nonstop. Some of the big stars come in here for two hours and try to conduct business on their cellphone while they're here. But not Ryan. He's polite, always listens to what I'm saying and follows all instructions."
Puk went on to say that he has also given Gosling nutritional advice, adding: "I've recommended that he stick to a traditional Thai diet of fish, green vegetables and rice. I can tell he's sticking to it."
Gosling recently insisted that he didn't feel snubbed by the Academy Awards after Drive was left off the list of nominees.
